Level I welding operator training course in accordance with AWS QC10 standard - Certified Entry Welder Level I

Course duration: 120 hours (15 days)

Course content (Applied Theory section):
  • Familiarity with the welding profession, scope of application, importance and organizational position of welding personnel
  • Terms and definitions in welding according to AWS A3.0
  • Familiarity with personal safety and health tips in the welding workshop environment in accordance with ANSI Z49.1 standard
  • Familiarity with welding symbols and maps in accordance with AWS A2.4 standard
  • Familiarity with WPS / PQR
  • Familiarity with arc welding process including (SAW, FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW)
  • Familiarity with thermal cutting methods including (OFC, PAC)
  • Familiarity with welding tests including mechanical (destructive) and non-destructive (NDT) tests
  • Familiarity with welding defects, causes, how to prevent and repair them
Course content (practical workshop section):
  • Learn how to prepare the edges (Beveling) and fit-up the parts correctly according to the map and WPS
  • SMAW welding training on steel sheets for corner and penetration welds in 2G, 3F, 1G, 2F 3G,
  • GMAW (MAG) welding training on steel sheets for Groove and Fillet welds in 3 F, 1G, 2F positions
  • FCAW welding training on steel sheets for Groove and Fillet welds in 1G, 2F conditions
  • GTAW (TIG) welding training on steel sheets for Groove and Fillet welds in 1G, 2F + conditions Introduction to welding on aluminum alloys and austenitic stainless steels
  • Thermal cutting training of steel sheets with OFC or PAC methods

Certificate:

Those who pass the final exams, in addition to the Certificate of Success during the AWS QC 10 Certified Entry Welder Level I course, will be awarded a valid certificate of certification as a welder separately in each of the GTAW, GMAW, SMAW FCAW methods.

Course prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of welding and cutting processes, having at least a high school diploma and familiarity with English language.
